we have always stayed on property so we could have front of the line access. now we would like to try the new resort opening this summer but it doesn't allow front of the line. will we notice a big difference if we are planning on going mid september? or will the crowds be low enough that we wouldn't miss it???

How long are you staying?

We've done 7 and 10 nights at cabana bay in October 2014 and 2015 and were fine using early entry only but had many park days.

In mid Sept. the crowds probably won't be too bad. With 3 days you could spend your first night at one of the other on site hotels - that would give you EP's for your first and second days...

We haven't needed Express YET but we keep in mind that we can buy it if we need it. We stayed at Cabana Bay during our last trip and at this point we plan to go back there.

if you go to the parks and find the crowds over whelming, you can buy the EP at any of the shops or at guest services.

you'll know from the start of your day if you will need to buy it.

if weather gets bad and it pours rain, the EP won't be a necessity
storms can come in and the projected number in the parks by UO, go out the window when it rains.

My kids and I did one day at the 2 parks with no express pass/early entry during Christmas week and accomplished all we had wanted to plus a lot more. Buying the express pass was not an option that day because the price was up to $150 per person. So we were there at opening and stayed until it closed (which was 8-10 that day.) I had a loose plan of attack and I think that helped as well. We really got so much done and had a truly fantastic day (despite the heavy crowds.)

For dates i've checked the new property is in same ballpark $ as RPH but no FOTL.

Has it been confirmed that they won't particate in Loews youfirst program?

You'll do just fine. We stayed Cabana Bay last summer and never needed EP for rides and spent our afternoons at the pool. In fact, we were happy to see some of the queues that we'd bypassed all the time.

6:30? Let's say it takes 45 minutes to check in and get kiosk passes. That puts us at 7:15. How long to get to gate? And do they sometimes let in earlier than one hour?

Kids and hubby want to sleep as late as possible so I want to have enough time but not be standing at gate for an hour. LOL!!

You don't really have to worry much about transportation at Uni. Even at Cabana Bay, the buses were quick and efficient.
