Splitting the day between AK and DHS

Am I the only one who does this? We are NOT thrill ride people, so that we don't find either of these parks to be full day parks. At AK we get breakfast at the Rainforest Cafe (which is a pretty good deal by Disney Standards) ride the safari ride, maybe catch a show or two, wander the trails and play in the boneyard and we are done.

At DHS we like TSMM, Star Tours, the Muppet show (DH and I grew up with them), catch one of the princess shows the Frozen Sing-a-long, VLM or BB stage show (DS 11 will only tolerate one princess show :rolleyes2 and DD 6 has ADHD and gets board if there are too many shows in a day) and we usually eat at Prime Time (we scheduled dinner this trip). DD 6 is terrified of GMR so we had to take that one out. (I know we could swap out, but we are OK skipping)

Now for my question (there is a point to this):
If we are going the first week in January, and this is pretty much our "must do" list, would it be better to book our FP for DHS or AK? I'm leaning toward DHS because the only ride at AK I foresee needing a FP for is the safari ride, and first thing in the morning the line shouldn't be nearly as long as TSMM will be in the afternoon!

Maybe we are missing some gem, but that's really all we have found we go back for! I'm definitely open to suggestions!

If I am doing a split day I always get FP for my afternoon park. We try to get to our morning park at rope drop and ride the bigger rides before the crowds come.
