Getting serious about direct - CCV or Poly?

I am point poor once again and really need points for an upcoming stay within my 7 mo booking window. This combined with the upcoming price increase has me getting serious about a DVC direct purchase. I don’t have a resort preference as we switch around constantly and hardly ever use our 11 mo priority booking window.

A few considerations:
I do need larger rooms on average. I rarely use my points for studios.
I have stayed at both Poly and CCV and like them fairly equally.
I am a bit of a point miser.

Although I would really like 150 points, I am more comfortable purchasing 100 right now. Someone tell me why I should purchase 150. 🤣

What would you do if you were me?

Looking at your considerations...

Larger rooms meaning 1B or larger? Or do you mean actual sq footage for the rooms.
- CCV 1/2Bs are smaller, or maybe the smallest, throughout DVC
- CCV has the only 3BR between these options

"I am a bit of a point miser" screams stay away from Poly.
- Point charts are a complete separator of these two specific resorts
- 150 won't go very far at Poly unfortunately

CCV all the way in my view. Good luck either way!

This was my thought as well, Poly is one of the most point hungry resorts in all of DVC, maybe even the most. If you've already decided you need direct points, I'd go with CCV assuming you're not open to other direct resorts at this time as well.

Agree with all of the above.
CCV for the win, or even BLT if you just want some SAP+ points, but for the small difference in price (dues) from BLT to CCV and you like CCV, I’d just go that route.

Do you already have some direct points that the 100 points would add to? If not, then I'd either go with 150 direct points or just do resale. The cost spread for resale and direct Copper Creek is pretty big still. If you aren't getting the member benefits, I am not sure I see the value in getting 100 direct points except for the ability to use them at any resort. However you mentioned you don't stay in studios and 100 points doesn't go far for 1 bedrooms. Where do you already own? Do you have Copper Creek or Poly points already?

CCV over Poly if you want your points to go farther and especially with larger rooms.

CCV basically has a 2042 points chart as it nearly mirrors BRV, but will last decades longer (in fact, CCV goes until 2068 while Poly is 2066).

Poly is gorgeous (so is CCV!) but those Poly point charts are serious for the larger rooms. CCV does not have view categories which makes it easier to just level project for what you'll need instead of hoping for the lower priced room views and having to come up with more points for that stay you wanted if the lower cost rooms fill up too quickly.

150 pts direct at CCV (current incentives end in a few weeks - Feb 9th maybe?) will get you the best incentive rate of $26/pt discount. Then at 150 points level you can get Magical Beginnings for another $20/pt discount (if you don't need the first UY's pts). Magical Beginnings is not available below 150 pts. Could also use your Disney Visa Premiere for an additional ~$4/pt off. That would be $205/pt for 150 pts after using all three discount opportunities.
