Splitting room costs and charges

The CMs at check-in have told us it is because we are on a "package" is the reason we can't do it.

While we are rarely on an actual package, we most always have an AP rate, a AAA rate, Magic Kingdom Club rate (I know, extinct), or a postcard rate.

Are the CMs correct in those cases, or trying to blow us off??

AP Rates, AAA rates etc are all Room Only packages.

And it's not that it can't be done... but it will take about a half hour, and require the assistance of the back office cast. During peak times, there sometimes just isn't the manpower available.

Another ? about this concerning tickets. If I recall, your room key is not only used to purchase merchandise and food, but is also your park ticket - is that correct? If that's the case, if you are wanting to split cost, would it be better to wait and buy tickets when we get there? I reserved the room and paid the deposit on my cc, but did not buy tickets because they must be paid for at time of order.

I guess if I'm wrong on the ticket issue, there's no reason not to order in advance since I beleive there is a bit of a savings?

1) This is just a pacifying staement.
2) There is NO connection between packages and room charging. NONE.
3) If they refuse, ask for a manager.
4) If they don't know how, ask them to check the back-room book.
5) It has step-by-step instructions.

Me and hubby have APs, but usually some of our group needs regular passes. We have them use their own payment method to purchase tickets through TicketMania in advance. They have the best prices. Once we arrive at Disney, then they can keep the tickets separate, or have them coded on their room ID.

OK -
Got back on the 26th from Poly. Did not put up much of a fight, but there was no problem splitting the room cost since it is prepaid. We were told you had to leave on card for additional charges, so the morning we checked out we got the bill and borrowed their calculator to add up charges for each card and settled it that way. Not too hard...
