Splitting Reservation

I currently have a reservation at BWV for 9 nites. We are planning to leave WDW in the middle of the 9 days and return later, but don't know exactly when we're leaving, hence I booked all 9 days. When I do cancel 3-4 days in the middle does that mess up my reservation (i.e. does it cancel all of the remaining days or just the ones I want to cancel?) I booked day by day but the whole reservation in under one confirmation number. Hope this is clear. The woman in member services said, "it won't be a problem," then said, "well you may have to rebook," then said, "it won't be a problem at all." Thanks for any and all information. I bought two DVC contracts (resales) sight-unseen because of this board so I trust you people!!!

Interesting question. I did something similar, and it didn't mess anything up (no re-booking necessary).
That being said, this could be the type of thing that varies, depending on who you talk with at member services.
