Splitting meals??

We would like to try some new restaurants this time around at WDW, but don't really want to get too full. Can anyone tell me if sharing meals (not buffets, of course) is frowned upon? What about going in to a restaurant for just dessert?

We shared at all meals, except buffets, the last time we went. No problems at all, and they usually split them in the kitchen for you. =)

My 16 yo son and 19 yo niece shared a meal at Tappanyaki and it was no problem. They got one bowl of rice to share and they both got vegetables and the chef just split up there chicken and steak and put a little of each of there plates.

We went to Coral Reef for just dessert (Yumm... chocolate wave)a couple of years back. We purposely went late around 8:30 when we figured that we wouldn't be depriving a server of a larger tip from a full meal. It took longer than we expected, but they had no problem with it.

So I need to eat several small meals a day,so DW and I split many meals and have never had a problem.I do tip server just lke we had 2 full meals.Have never had a CM look look funny at us like we were cheapskates,always have been very nice.

Dh and I often split meals and have never had a problem anywhere in WDW. In fact at Spoodle's our server started out by saying if we wanted to just get appetizer's or split a meal, it was fine. We sometimes share an appetizer and an entree. Like the previous poster, we tip as if we had both ordered meals.

We also split all our meals. Me and the kids can't eat much so we just share. We never had a problem and there is always room for dessert later!
