Splitting a party of 4

Just book a ADR at Chefs De France and I noticed this warning after I booked the ressie. "Please note that your party may be seated at more than one table." Does Disney dining really believe it can split up a family of 4 because there is not a restaurant in the world that would think of splitting a table like this.

I think the disclaimer is also on ADRs for 1 and 2 people...its just that, a disclaimer. I'm 99% certain you won't be split up.

It just means that there are probably 2 2-toppers available , but other groups of 4 have made ADR's for the 4-topper tables available. Since most 2-toppers are together - Disney advises your party may not be at the same table. Depending a ton of things more than likely your party will be seated together if at all possible. Disney is just saying it is a possibility and if you don't want to do that or take that chance you can look for a different place that has availability for your party size.

More than likely it won't be an issue, but Disney is just saying that they do have the space - just not in one table - they're letting you know what could happen. They're giving you the option of what you want to do. Some people have their heart set on a particular place and are willing to do whatever to eat there. If the place is booked up, its already full - Disney is doing its best to accommodate your party if that's really where you want to eat.

When you call Disney dining or make the reservation online - they will tell you that upfront as your making the reservation. Its not standard. We have multiple reservations for our party of 4-6 people over the summer and none of them have that notation, but we booked 180 days out.

Disney is well know for having the most incompetent web site. I have once in a while made a reservation for just myself and have received that same disclaimer. It would be very messy if they tried to split me up to two tables!

It is a standard warning they put on all reservations. Though, if threre are extenuating circumstances then yeah, Disney can split you up at 2 tables. You would be given the choice to split up or find somewhere else to dine.

But don't worry about it. The odds of it happening to a party of 4 are slim. We have been split up once, but we were a party of 8.

As said by the PP's, it's basically a CYA thing for Disney. It probably has happened before but it is not something they plan on doing or practice with any kind of regularity. But they want the disclaimer there for legal purposes (like someone suing after they have eaten there because Disney split their party of 25 up into four different tables and they had a rotten night)

I just made multiple reservations for 4-6 people exactly 180 +10 days out, and the disclaimer was on every single one of my reservations.
