Split table reservation Rose and Crown

Hi

For the last couple of days, I've been trying to make an ADR for five us us for the Rose and Crown at the 180 day window to enable us to enjoy the firework display in their viewing area. Despite being on the dot at 11.00am, I've only managed to get a reservation time around 7:00pm which is too early.

Today I have looked at splitting the booking into a table for 2 and a table for 3, and managed to get 7.40pm and 7.50pm which I have taken (30th August) . has anyone done this before, and do you think the restauarant would try to seat us together under the circumstances?

Have you tried booking for 6?

The ADR system doesn't seem to like odd numbers - more than once I have booked a 4 instead of 3 to get the time I want.

I would try for a 6 rather than risk being split.

Thanks for that, I'll have another go tomorrow, if I don't get the 31st it will be later in September as we are off to meet friends in Clearwater for a few days early September.
