Have Any Of You Done a Split Stay, Where You Stay At One Hotel The First Couple Of Nights, Then Switch Over To A Different Hotel,Then Leave? We Are Doing That With The Nickelodeon Hotel The First Night, Then The Animal Kingdom Lodge Thenext Five Nights, Then The All Star Movies For The Last Four Nights. Thank you :)

yes, we move often in the middle of our stay. Never through choice, just usually because we cant get the same place for two weeks..

I dont like it as you dont settle in to any place properly.. but I am sure you will have great fun!

We do it once in a blue moon. I prefer to only repack once- at the end of the trip. However, sometimes w/ Priceline especially, we can get our better deals if we have shorter stays. So, we've done the 1/2 week in 1 hotel- then the other 1/2 in another. Never more than 2 hotels in 1 week at the same destination spot. I personally don't like to if I don't have to.

The other thing is- and it seems to happen to us often. 9 out of 10 times we don't like the 2nd hotel as much as the first. So, it can be a real "downer" to switch. Now if I were going from a value to a deluxe that might be another story. Then I might be anxious to switch.

Sounds like a real pain to me! We actually did this in the Fall, with a few days at the Pop Century before moving to a timeshare for a week. I didn't originally plan it that way, but already had the timeshare booked and came a few days early to get in on the free dining.

Moving day is basically a lost day. You wouldn't think it would be, but it seems to turn out that way.

we did it this october, 9 days in I drive and then 9 days at Pop Century

we loved it, felt like 2 holidays in one, the first half we only did Universal, Sea World, Bush Gardens and I drive stuff and the second half was all disney

we never felt like we lost a day as we moved hotles early in the morning so were checked in and in the disney parks by lunchtime

We have done a split stay because we couldn't decide on just one hotel.
We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge while at the MK, and then went to Animal Kingdom Lodge for the other half of the week. It can disrupt your vacation a bit, but transfering from one Disney hotel to another is not as inconvenient as going from a non Disney hotel to one that is on property. The folks at the Disney hotel will transfer your bags to the next Disney hotel while you enjoy your day out and about, only having to check in at the end of the day.

The only thing you might want to change, if still possible, is to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for the last few days. It may be a bit of a let down to transfer from the beautiful AKL to the All Star Movie.

I cheap - I stay in a timeshares for the entire week. but on either Wednesday, Tuesday or Thursday - we stay in a WDW resorts to take advantage of Extra Magic hours.

Now when I start traveling alone again. I will be more likely to go your route.

remember there is a chance that you will be without a hotel from 10:00 am (offsite check out time) to 4:00 pm (almo) to 3:00pm (AKL). If you can take being without a hotel room for those hours. then hey go for it!!!!

I would definitely put AKL in the end. I might go with Pop over ASMO - but hey everyone has different taste.
