Split stays...

I do have a question if someone can help. We normally dedicate the morning that we are switching resorts to just go to the parks later that day and do an early check in to the 2nd resort and unpack and get to the park in the afternoon.
This year we are staying 2 nights at AoA and then 7 nights at Poly. We are going to do Rope Drop at animal kingdom the morning of our transfer. We have reservations at 1900 park fare at GF at 5:20pm. What are the chances that if we have AoA transfer our luggage to Poly that it will be there around 4pm when we go back to check in before our dinner? What other way can we do it and still get to Animal Kingdom at rope drop?
thanks
I've always been told when I've had luggage transferred that it would be available at the next resort "after 3". So it most likely will be at the Polynesian by 4.

No, you don't need a second magic band. It will get transferred to your band once the second reservation is activated and you've checked in.

Thanks, I kind of thought that was true, so I planned to decline the second magic band. However, I couldn't find the option to "decline MB", so I just picked a different color for my second stay. I figure I can wear whatever goes with what I'm wearing that day, regardless of where I'm staying. Hope that's true! I'd hate to get to FOP and be declined my FP+, simply because I'm wearing the "wrong band" that day.

They will move your baggage free of charge but if you're on the dining plan you can run into a snag if you try to use it before you've checked into your next room. It's a neat way to check out different resorts though.

WRT the dining plan, the possible snag you describe sounds like what could happen if your first stay did NOT have a dining plan, but the second did? Like, your dining plan won't activate until and unless you check in to the place where you have added on the plan?
I'm concerned that we should not check into our second resort unlike late in the day because we only have the DDP for the first stay. Those credits should be good until midnight of the day we check out of Resort #1, but I am concerned that checking into Resort #2 might mess that up somehow.
Anyone try a split with the front half having DDP but not the second?

We are doing our first split stay after many trips. We like the lodges best, mainly WL. Last stay, we wanted to try an Epcot resorts and it was August so the Beach Club seemed the perfect choice. While the location was perfect and the pool was great, the feel of the hotel and smell of the food place was not for us. We tried to change mid-stay and couldn’t.

This time, we wanted a few nights near Epcot so we will do three nights at Boardwalk Inn and then Five at WL. We plan on going to MK when we wake up and doing our fast pass rides and shop a little. Then , we will take the boat to WL and got the last lunch reservation time at Whispering Canyon. We will then check in and hope our luggage is there and use the pool and relax. We are not going to even try to move the refrigerated stuff as it is August.

Have a great trip!

100% correct.

But I am concerned that checking into Resort #2 might mess that up somehow.

In our experience, 5 times, there was no issue.

Yup. No problems whatsoever.
