Split stays?

Can anyone direct me to information on split stays or answer a couple of questions? I have 3 rooms booked for 8/14 - 8/20 this summer at POP. I mentioned to a CM that I wanted to split my stay between POP/POFQ and got a "why on earth would you want to do that? POFQ is so much better (her favorite)". Well #1for financial reasons - I am trying to put together this trip for 3 different families of different economical means. Families A&B and one member of family C have stayed at POP and had fun. However families A & C have stayed at POR and thought about trying POFQ to do something different. Family B liked POP, but would be willing to split a stay and try POFQ for some of the stay. OKay, I just realized, probably TMI. Anyhow, I am considering calling back to make a split stay. If I remember seeing something on the boards correctly, it seems that I would have to do 2 separate reservations right? Why is that so difficult to do with CRO? I was thinking about POP for 3 nights, then moving to POFQ for 3 nights. Sound crazy? We just really love the boat to DTD. We plan to take it kind of easy on this trip. Not as much commando schedules that we've kept in the past. Thanks all!:flower3:

It shouldn't be hard for them to do at all. You will need to make separate deposits for each room.

If you are on a package with dining plan then you would need at least a one day ticket on the second stay to qualify.

The only issue that I can think of would be that it's more expensive if you buy two separate packages. If you're planning on doing this, the split will cost you a lot more due to the park tickets. It's much cheaper to buy one six-day park ticket, for example, than two three-day tickets. If you're not planning on booking packages, though (no dining plan, room-only reservations and separate purchase of MYW tix), then there's no difference financially. I can think of no other reason why the CM would want to discourage you. Disney will move your luggage for you, so that's no big deal.

Thanks for the quick replies! We are doing rooms only. I was shocked that they discouraged me also! But I always get a little "anxious" when we go straight into a reservation. I just want to check the rates and availability!! LOL! And I used to be in the hotel business - crazy huh? I'll have to get my mind straight and call back and see what they can do for me today. 2 separate reservations for 3 different rooms - that's 6 reservations!!:scared1:
