For those of you who do split stays, are there two resorts that you find yourself usually "pairing"? For example, I often do split stays between AKV and BCV (my last 4 trips were split between these two), going to MK and AK from AKV, then Epcot and DHS from BCV. So which 2 resorts do you find go well together?

I find that I almost always pair BLT with one other resort. Last summer it was BLT with BCV (which we LOVED.) Visited MK and AK when we at BLT, and DHS and Epcot while at BCV. Downtown Disney on moving day. Worked like a charm. Loved easy access to the parks from our "home base."

This summer we are doing a 3 way split - 4 nights at BLT; 3 at AKV Kidani, ending with 2 nights at AKV Jambo CL. I think it will be really nice winding down at the club level after 7 days of hot, humid park visits. I plan on relaxing and enjoying the resort.

We did BCV and SSR twice. I also like BWV/BCV and VWL. Last time we did BLT and THV. I like splits best if there is a good contracts between resorts. Makes it seem longer!

We do split stays due to lack of availability. Booking at 11 months looks great on paper but in reality, something always seems to come up that changes our travel plans and forces us to due a split stay. Wait lists rarely work for us either, maybe 1 out of 8 tries over the years.

I like doing the epcot resorts first (5-7 days), and then do OKW (3-4 days) to calm down.

Our last few trips (and the one coming up) have been split between BCV and BLT - perfect combination for us:goodvibes

We are wilderness lodge lovers, so we always pair that with another. Our goal is to try out all the other resorts. I can't get my hubbie to try Broadwalk though.

I mostly find AKV paired with another resort, by choice. I simply love AKV!

We've done two trips where we've also pairted AKV with BCV.

Perfect choice for us :cheer2::cheer2:

Last October we started at OKW then moved to BWV for Food & Wine. We could not get all our nights at BWV or we would not have chosen a split stay.

This time we are doing VWL and BWV. We will see MK and AK from VWL and Epcot and DHS while at BWV.

I really do not like moving day. In the past we would check in a wait for our villa to be ready. We like to get "moved in" ASAP. However, last visit we changed things up a bit and checked the resort (BWV) then went directly to Epcot. It sure beat hanging around waiting for the room to be ready. Since it is a short trip to Epcot from BWV we stayed at Epcot for a few hours, had lunch, then went directly to our villa. It worked out really well. It did not take long to get settled in. Bell Services brought our luggage and OL quickly.

I don't know if we would do this if we could not walk directly to the park.

We did OKW and AKV. :thumbsup2 It was a nice contrast. Next trip we'll be doing SSR and maybe THV (yes I know they are part of SSR but they are totally different to me) or SSR and BWV.

I like the way you think:thumbsup2
Now that we added OKW, we will probably alternate between BCV/AKV and OKW/BCV.

Here too but we have rarely only paired but rather use at least 3 and more often 4. Have stayed in all except coastal ones.

Even this November's Grande Villa trip we will be staying in 3 different resorts.:dance3: However with all that said my long suffering bride usually twists my arm and we stay at WV somewhere in the trip, she is from Montana and it reminds her of where she grew up.

WE always do a split stay. Its nice to change resorts in the trip. We do stay for 14 nights though and do the last 7 at BCV with the first seven varying each trip. So far the best combination seems to be OKW & BCV. 1st week nice and laid back to get used to it all and the 2nd total carnival!

We're doing our first DVC trip as a split stay between AKV and BLT. We couldn't get all the nights we wanted at BLT (home resort), so we added the extra nights at AKV. At first we were disappointed because we had it in our minds that we'd be at BLT the whole time, but now that we're booked this we we're super excited for both parts of the trip and wouldn't do BLT the whole time now, even if we could! So excited to try both resorts. Only sticky part for me is the moving day. Reading posts here though of how easy it is has helped me be comfortable that it should be fine. :thumbsup2
