Split stays/same hotel?

I'm not even sure how to word this so it makes sense...but here's what I'm trying to figure out. It's a "is this possible" question.
4 women arrive late into Orlando, use magic express to a Mod where they all share one room that night at whatever per room rate it is. The next day begins a Magic Your Way Package with Dining and Park Hoppers for the women who will then split into 2 separate rooms at same resort. (Hopefully maintaining the initial room for 2 of them for consistency sake). Goal: Save a little cash in light of a late night arrival while staying within the guidelines of all things Disney.

That should not be a problem. Basically you have 3 reservations:

*One for the first night for four (4) guests -- room only
*One for the remaining nights for two (2) guests - MYW package
*One for the remaining nights for two (2) guests - MYW package

Just be sure when making the first night ressie that you have them note on your reservation that you have a package ressie beginnning the next day and you would like to stay in the same room. Make sure first night ressie and one of the package ressie are in the same name so that there is no confusion (I would put second package ressie in different name as well).

Also, let them know the same thing at check-in.

We did this in 2003 and had no problems at all...we were told that we MAY have to move since it was really different reservations (first night room only, then a vacation package, final night room only) but they were actually very accommodating and we did NOT have to move...but I would keep in mind there is a possibility that you might have to. What ever you do...have fun and EAT MUCH!!!

And also remember that even if two of you stay in the same room, all four of you will have to check out and check back in. Even the two remaining in the original room (if that happens).

When we've done this, I also mention when we check in for the first night/part that there's a seperate reservation and they usually go in and make a note on both so you don't have to move.
