Still trying to book my DD graduation present, a week with 3 friends at Disney. One of the things I was looking at was doing 3 nights Thurs - Sun in a studio hopefully at BWV or BCV (or even OKW) then try to get them a 1 bd room at BLT or VWL. My question is will someone move their luggage to the next resort for them? Is there a fee for that? What happens if they have some groceies that need to be refrigerated? My thinking was they could do the 1st 2 days at Epcot and HS then on move day (if we can arrange them to be moved) they can do a water park and just go to the new resort from the water park and then have a day or 2 in MK. Just wondering how this works.

Well........ it is quite easy really SORTA. LOL They will move their luggage from one Disney resort to another and their groceries too. Just make sure they tell bell services if there are COLD groceries so they can be refrigerated at the other resort until they claim their stuff again. You will TIP to have them pick up the stuff, and then tip on the other end when they receive their stuff again. There is no FEE to do it though. :goodvibes We have done splits the last three summers. It is a bit of a pain to move in the middle but it is fun to try different resorts that way.

To expand a little on what edk35 posted, someone will have to be in the room when bell services picks up the luggage from the first resort. They only transfer luggage once during the day so it won't be available at the second resort until 4pm. They would need to call bell services at the new resort when they are in the room to have the luggage brought up. Bell Services will not pickup or delivery luggage if someone is not in the room.

I don't mean to hijack this thread....
but will a resort move luggage when simply moving from one room to another in the same resort ? I have a MK view at BLT part of the stay and a Bay Lake view the second half. The same view is not available.....I'm still currently on wait list.

thanks and sorry for the hijack..........

I don't see any reason they wouldn't. Your second room will probably not be ready by check-out time of 11am, so you will probably need bell services to store your luggage during the day until it's ready.

Thanks.....we were just hoping we could leave for the park and not worry about moving luggage out to the car.

but that's the only thing. the morning you check out of the first room just call bell services and they will come up. Tell him you are checking back in to another room so he will check your stuff. When you get to your new room later that day just call bell services and tell them you are ready for your luggage.

Instead of park hopping we call it resort hopping. It's done all the time and bell services do have refrigerators at both ends, check-out & check-in resorts. Everyone is right about tipping your bellman.($10out+$10in=$20). It's worth it for the girls to experience two resorts on one trip. I hope they have fun on thier graduation trip. ??? Do they pick up your luggage before check-out time? So we have to stay in our resort and wait for them to pick up our luggage before we can go to a park?

You can call the night before and arrange a pickup time and yes, before checkout.

YES, you have to stay in your room for them to pick up the luggage (they will be expecting a tip and taping it to the bag just isn't going to work)!

I've done it from OKW to BCV and I stopped by bell service the night before and asked to have it picked up at 9:00AM and they were there on the dot. They have to tag all of your bags with a special tag telling it where it's going.

Once you get into your new resort room, then you can call and have them deliver, so it worked great for us. We had alot of bags so our tip was $20 on both sides = $40. (We were a party of 9 moving from a 2 bedroom to a 2 bedroom).

We resort hop all the time. We usually travel pretty light and we wheel our luggage down to the lobby ourselves and drop them at bell services on our way to a park.

We've only had one time where we had bell services come get our bags before we left. We didn't call ahead the night before, just called and someone was up in 10 minutes. I can see where calling ahead might be a good idea, though.

Agreed on this ! One year, we called close to an hour before check out at BWV. Took them 2 hours to get up to us ! We were really thankful we didn't have an early flight. Husband had gone down to try and find some hand carts and do it himself and there were none !!!! We ended up checking out late but BWV was fine with it because they obviously understood. Next time we would call ahead.........

When they call to have the luggage picked up by bell service tell them to tell the person at BS that they are transferring to whichever resort. They has special transfer tags that they put on the luggage!
