We may be doing a split stay and I'm curious as to how this works w/passes and the ddp. If we go for 7 nights - when we check in at the first hotel the CM would just load onto our room key the number of days/nights staying at the first hotel, passes & ddp. Then the next hotel would load new cards w/the remaining day passes and ddp credits. Is that right? Very confused - any info would be appreciated. TIA!

Yes, if you are on a package the package is only good for the number of nights you are at that hotel, if you change to a different resort you would have a seperate package for that resort that would issue a new set of ticket and DDP (if that is how you booked it)...

2 Different reservation, 2 seperate packages, it treats you like a whole new person!

Although, the main thing you may get confused about is this (I will use our reservations as an example):

We are staying at AKL Dec 1-5 with 8 day park hoppers and dining plan.

Our AKL Key to the World card would have our room key, 8 day park hopper tickets and 4 night dining plan priviledges. Now notice that I am only staying 4 nights with 8 day park hoppers. That is more tickets than my stay at AKL.

We are switching to CSR Dec 5-9, 1 day base ticket (had to buy to get the dining plan), and the dining plan.

We are issued a new Key to the World card with our new room key, a 1 day base ticket, and the dining plan. The 1 day base ticket is to be used on the last day when we are leaving. We will have to use our old AKL card with the remaining park hoppers for the days inbetween (Dec 5-8).

The CM did say that when you switch to your second resort they could place them on your new key card. But I don't think I will do that since we will have the base ticket on there. Don't need them to get mixed up somehow. And I am sure that Disney could find a way to screw them up.:sad2:

That is true, it all depends on how you have the packages set up. If you have the package set up as above where the tickets for the whole stay are linked to the first hotel and it is just the dining that is split (cause it has to be) then you would end up with 2 sets of ID cards when moving to the other hotel... One for tickets and the other for room key, charging and dining plan. It can get complicated that way. Whenever I saw this situation working the front desk, I would offer to hole punch the ID's that had the tickets. As long as you don't punch the hole in the magnetic strip they will be fine, or write something on them with a sharpie marker, that way you can differantiate the cards as they will look exactlly the same at first glance!

Again, it all depends on how you set up the packages.
