Split stays and Magic Bands?

We have a split stay at BWV and AKV; both cash through Disney if that makes a difference. Does both resorts stays go on the same magic bands now? Back when they first started using magic bands I had 1 night at POP, 5 at BLT and 4 at AKV. Was shipped one set of MB before leaving home and received MB for each check in when we got there. Literally had 4 MB per person that trip. What a waste... Hopefully that has been streamlined a bit.

You'll still be offered bands, but you can decline them on MDE . Same link used to personalize.

Thanks, if we decline will the 2nd resort info be on the first MB? All of our passes (6 day hoppers) will be on the 1st resort MB. Do we need to stop at the front desk at the new resort to have that reservation linked to the original MB?

It will all be linked to the first band automatically. We are usually able to bypass the front desk with no problems. It sounds like a fun stay. Hope you have a great time!

Your magic band is linked to your MDE account, not any specific reservation. Any active magic band will work exactly the same.

Nothing is actually on the band itself, everything is linked to your MDE account, including the MB. As long as the MB that you want to use is listed active in your MDE account you will be all set for your various stays.

Ahhh, ok cool. Sounds easy enough. I don't see where to decline the 2nd set of MB and I did confirm my address in order to get into it and look for the decline button. I'd like to not even receive the 2nd set if I can.

As people have said, your band is link to your account, not to any reservation or fast pass.

One thing I have have learned, with a split stay, is to check out of the first resort. Otherwise you might have a problem with using your band to get into your room at your second resort.

That makes sense. If I check out of my first resort, I can still use my dining plan credits linked to my 1st resort can't I?

No.

So, instead of checking out, check in.

Meaning, don't check out until all of your credits have been used. Then check in to your new resort.

Thanks again Mary. I was hoping to leave our luggage with the 1st resort to transport to the 2nd resort around 10am and go to DS for an ADR at The Boathouse at noon. If I don't go to the front desk at 1st resort and "check out" then the credits will be still on the magic bands right? Then after shopping at DS we'll go to 2nd resort and "check in" where we will have DDP added to that resort too. I can do things differently if I need to. Sorry to be a pain.

Not a pain at all. It can be very confusing.

That is exactly how it should work. Notice that I said "should." Sometimes, even when you do everything right things go wrong. Just verify everything when you check into the second resort.
