Split stay

My son and I have a trip in August. We fly into MCO on a Sunday and are staying at POFQ- no parks just Disney Springs or checking out resorts. The next day we check in for 4 nights at AKL CL. I know they'd send our luggage over and our room won't be ready early which is fine. Do we have to go to AKL for our tickets/Magic bands to be activated or can we just go straight to parks?

Thanks! I haven't been in 9 years and never done two hotels.
