Split stay wwyd?

Option 2 to make it easier on you and the family. I take it you own at SSR. If you are planning on a Value AKV two bedroom, unless you own there and walk the reservation, you probably won't get it.

My advice is no more than 2 resorts with that many kids. We've done a few splits (both as a family of 3 and with just DH and myself) and we're considering another one for this fall (just waiting on our 7 mo window to open so we can see what's still available). I personally HATE packing and if you switch 3x with that many peeps you'll end up feeling like that's all you did on your vacation. (That's not my idea of a good time.) Our easiest split was on a trip where we drove and we went to a water park for the entire day that we were homeless. We kept what we needed in the car in a day bag and let Disney move our food and luggage. When we left the waterpark we just drove to our new home. It was evening by then and the room was ready. One time we did a split with our DS and his college roommate and they were both sick. It was in January over their winter break and it was a very COLD day and they really, really could have used a break in the room but guess what? It was our move day and we didn't HAVE a room. That time moving really sucked. I felt so bad for the 2 of them. They were miserable.

BWV is hard to get any time of the year but over spring break not very likely for even 1 room let alone 2 so I honestly wouldn't hold my breath on that one. We also own at SSR and like staying there - but we also like resort hopping and test driving other resorts so that each trip is different from the last so I get wanting to try more than one. The point charts for the standard view rooms at SSR and AKV are quite reasonable and you can get a lot of bang for your points there. We also like AKV a lot and have stayed there probably as much as we have at SSR. We typically only stay 2-3 nights at the more point intensive resort when we try one that requires a lot of points. Have you considered trying for the Poly? We only stayed there once but we really liked it a lot and it's got a fairly large amount of units so it may have good availability. I would consider a SSR / AKV or an SSR / Poly split. But I'd suggest reconsidering trying to move 3x. JM2C. Good luck!!

I think if I were in your shoes I would be trying to spend as much time in a 2BR as possible. First, an actual 2 bedroom is going to have one more 'real' bed (if the queen side has two queens) and since some of the 'kids' are adults they might really appreciate that. You and your husband will definitely appreciate having a king to yourselves I'm sure! Remember that a 2BR is actually three 'rooms'... one is a king, one is a queen/sofa or two queens, and the middle is the kitchen/living area with a sofa bed. Having the extra space over two studios (one whole 'room' worth) plus having a kitchen (teenagers eat like crazy, you could save a lot of money having some meals in the room) might help.
The less splits the better with all those kids. We only switch with 2 kids, but I am having to make sure everything is packed up, and it’s a pain. I’d recommend getting a 2BR for the whole stay if you can. If you’re out of points, look into buying some points via a transfer. It is cheaper than you think if you try and get some SSR points. You could look into transferring points from a different resort if you have your heart set on a split stay. My recommendation is two-fold I guess:

1) minimize, or eliminate, split stay
2) buy some points and transfer them in from another owner so you can book it all at once for a 2BR

^^^ I agree with both of these, as well as all of @Marionnette's post. I would limit it to a 2-resort split, and stay in 2BR if at all possible. I don't think the week after Easter is terribly difficult, but the issue about BWV 2br being all lockoffs makes me think that you should probably stick with trying for SSR and AKV (standard?), and buy yourself a lottery ticket if BWV std is available.

Almost 4 out of our last 7 stays have been split stays with 2 resorts only, and we've always had bell services transfer our stuff. (most recently over Xmas/New Years) Maybe we are just lucky, but we've not encountered any issues, knock wood.

As others have said, make your SSR booking at 11 months and split it 4/5 or 3/6. Then get online and see if you can successfully modify at 7 months at 8am on the dot! Who knows, you may get lucky.
