I just can't help but dream about my Super-Fabulous Graduation Celebration Trip of 2011 - less than 3 years to go!

We plan on going for about 2 weeks (give or take a day or two). We have always been moderate resort type folk, though we've done the values a couple of times too. Since this will be our longest trip to date, we would like to split stay and spend part of our time at a deluxe. Depending on where we end up Deluxe-wise, we'll decide whether we'll do moderate or value for the other resort (DH nixed the Deluxe-Deluxe split stay...THIS time anyway!).

I think the Poly looks gorgeous, but I also really love the WL based on the photos I've seen. I'm not sure about GF - it looks beautiful, but I'm not sure if its "us".

I know that people have their favorite resorts and I can appreciate that - but I would love some insight from folks who have split-stayed and which 2 resorts they chose.

Hi there!

We did a split-stay on our last trip & we decided to always do split-stays for trips to come! It's so fin to be able to treat yourself & "see how the other half lives":rotfl:

Anyways, we stayed at CBR for our first half of our trip & AKL for the second half. For us, it was perfect!

CBR is fantastic! It really has that Caribbean feel. Everything is so vibrant & beautiful there-from the comforters to the greenery outside! The grounds are beautiful with white sands and hammocks & walking paths with exotic flowers :cloud9: Also, the food court was decent & the buses were very reliable. CBR is very close to Epcot & DHS. The pool is gorgeous & you can also rent boats in the marina.

AKL was AMAZING!!! This is such a luxurious resort, I still can't believe that WE (a lowly paid teacher & a waiter! :scared1: ). It may be a bit further away from the other parks, but it's a shame that anyone turns this gem of a resort away for 5-10 extra minutes on a bus. The lobby is breathtaking (same designer that did the WL), entire atmosphere is just peaceful & serene, the CM were exceptionally great! The room was beautiful & bed was comfy. In my opinion, this resort also wins #1 for the best food choices anywhere! The CS place was so yummy & Boma ended up to be our favorite TS restaurant at WDW! We didn't get a chance to try their signature restaurant Jiko, but it gets rave reviews. They offer lots of activities there as well, such as night vision glasses viewing of the animals, storytelling by the fire, CM's playing beautiful african drums, if you stay concierge/club level, you can also book special sunrise & sunset safari rides.

Most importantly, & I can't stress this enough-you just cannot beat the amazing experience of looking out at giraffes & zebras right outside your balcony every morning!!! I would definately book a savannah view room if you were to stay there.

Split-stays are simple, by the way. WDW makes the transition VERY easy! :thumbsup2

Hope this helps! Have a great time, wherever you choose!!

Choose resorts that fit your particular tastes (which may very well be different from others who respond). My only advice is to do the value/moderate first and end the trip at the deluxe. Have a great trip!

I see from your sig that you're going to be at WDW before your planned graduation trip. If you have time while you're there, visit the resorts you think you'd be interested in (anyone's allowed to visit, not just resort guests). That way you can get a feel for what they're like. If you're there during a not very busy period of time, ask at the front desk and they'll be happy to show you a vacant room. We've done this in the past.

And, maybe this goes without saying, but, when you do the split stay, stay in the deluxe place for the 2nd half of your trip, saving the best for last.

We have split ASMU/Contemporary
WL/Dolphin
POP/Poly
and stayed a non split at CBR.

I would love to try CSR/BeachClub..but not in the budget for about 8 years worth of college!
We love to do split stays as we feel like we get 2x's the trip!
