We always like to stay at Wilderness Lodge, but am leaning towards trying a new resort. I Am taking the advice from these boards and doing a split stay. We are going for 9 nights in June, so I thought we'd do 5 at Wilderness Lodge and 4 at a new reosrt. My question is which way would you split the stay? Would you do Wilderness Lodge first and then the new resort, or new resort and then Wilderness Lodge? Any suggestions whiche resort we should pair with Wilderness Lodge?

If both your resorts are Deluxe I would say either way you are good but if you are splitting between a deluxe and moderate or value I would always end the trip at the deluxe resort. If WL is your favorite end your vacation there!!!
Either way it's a great thing staying at other resorts and checking out what they have to offer..

It would depend where you are staying for the other half. One year we stayed four nights at the WL and then 4 nights at AKL. Worked out well.If you goose a moderate ,go there first.

If you are doing 2 Deluxe hotels it does not matter how you split your stay.

If you are going to be trying a Moderate, I would do the Moderate hotel first, then the WL.

We are considering a AKL/WL split this year. We stayed at WL last year and loved every minute of the trip. My DS wants to stay with the animals so we are considering a couple days at AKL. We though if we did AKL 1st then if we didn't enjoy it we always have "going home" to enjoy. Have fun making your decision.

This Aug DS13 & I are starting w/5nights at Pop (will be there mostly to sleep)
then going "home" to the WL for 3nights (resort not Villas this time)
then ending w/BCV using last yrs DVC pts for 6nights

each time its a move up

I would stay at the new resort first, regardless of whether it's another deluxe (although if it isn't, that's just another reason to stay there first). Always try the unknown first. Then, if you don't like it, you know that you have the known, that you love, to look forward to. I've done this several times with different DVC resorts. I stay at a new one first, for 1 or 2 nights, then switch over to one I know I'll love for the remainder of the trip.

I'd consider one in the Epcot area if you are staring off in the Magic kingdom area.
