When you're doing a split stay, what is your day plan?

I'll be a week at VWL and 12 days at AKV. May or may not have a car.

Thanks.

We've got a water park planned for our split day. They open later, we can sleep in a little, check out later, and my main objective other than having a good time, is to skip the need for a midday break. By spending the day at a water park, there no need to rope drop and no prressure to obtain FP.

If the weather is uncooperative, we'll most likely go to AK instead. Same idea to sleep in, no real pressure for FP as EE, Kali, and the Safari don't typically run out. :thumbsup2

We won't have a car either. Bell services will move everything. They'll even keep your groceries cold for you.

first of all, if you have room for one more, i'd love to join you.

bell services assists with the move & yes, they tag the bags/groceries for you & keep them cold.

we've done the parks & come back to the resorts. you are free to use the resort facilities & pool. bell services gives a heads up that they do the moves in afternoon, so just in case we keep a backpack with some items we might need like swimsuits & sunblock.

you can check in in the a.m. & go about your day. we like to give the resort a call and see if the room is ready if out & about, if we are not there lounging.

We are doing a 3-night AKV Kidani/4-night BLT split-stay in March (just a week total unfortunately), and the plan is:

Arrive Saturday early afternoon, spend the rest of the day lounging around the Kidani pool, dinner at Boma.

Sunday at Animal Kingdom park, Monday at Universal Islands of Adventure (mainly Harry Potter, truth be told), Tuesday at MK (wake up in AKV, go to bed in BLT, have bell services move our stuff), Wednesday at EPCOT, Thursday and Friday are tossups, one day at a waterpark, one at DHS, or if rainy, a day at Disney Quest. Saving money by not buying park hopping or water parks.

Thanks. Good to know the timing of the moves. Maybe If I have a car, I will move myself, then the stuff will be where I am at the time. If not, packing a bag is a good idea.

Terry, you could, but I think i'll miss you by just a few days.

19 days ... wow, what is the record around here?

I know, nice job. That one day doesn't need to be super commando IMO. I would check out and have the bags sent to AKL. Then hop a bus to whichever park I wanted for the day. Then bus to AKL late afternoon (or even evening) and get checked in.

If you want to check in to AKL early am (maybe a room choice or something), just boat to MK-then bus to AKL like 8 AM or whatever. Let the fam sleep/pack, then return to help. Or take a cab.

For us, "move day" is always a "pool day".

We have our own vehicle. We drive over (wearing our swimsuits & cover-ups) around 9-10am. Check-in & hang by the pool until notified that our room is ready.

We call bell service. They take the bags we head to the park, usually wearing suits under clothes. Play until our usual departure time and then 1-3PM we head to resort. If it were not ready, we would have our suits on under our clothes and play in the pool or eat.

We have occationally hopped over to the resort 1st to check in, and that way we get a txt when it is ready. With your length of stay this would be easy. And make it an AK park day.

Oh, I'm sure Webmaster Doc, among others have stayed WAY longer than me! No family to worry about, this trip - it's just the old lady and her teddy bear, escaping the winter whilst DH skis.

We did a BWV/AKV split last month, and used our moving day as a pool day. We slept in a bit and were out of the room by 11:00. We headed down to the quiet pool at BWV and spent a few hours swimming/relaxing by the pool. It was around 3:00 when we changed and packed up, then headed to lunch on the Boardwalk at Big River Grille. After lunch, we took the boat to HS, then the bus to AKV. Check in at 4:15, room was ready, all was good.:)

It was a nice mid-week break, and everything fell into place perfectly.
