Split Stay Refillable Mug DDP question

Hi all, due to the magic of late Labor Day, our 13 nights worth of DVC points is magically transformed to 16 nights this year, so we have 7 nights @ Treehouses, 2 nights @ Beach Club, and 7 nights @ AKL (Jambo). Very excited. Anyway, I crunched all the numbers and decided that the DDP is not effective for us, so we are doing the gift card route. EXCEPT, because of the meals that we have lined up for the 2 nights at the Beach Club, I'm considering doing the DDP just for those two nights.

So here's the problem: We had planned on getting refillable mugs, over the course of a 16 day stay this seems a no-brainer. However, we will also get mugs with the DDP if we do it, but not until halfway through the trip. The idea of having two complete sets of mugs just seems beyond wasteful / excessive to me. I know some may consider this making something out of nothing, but I'm wired that way, so hoping for some answers to my possible solutions from the board (or a suggestion for something I haven't thought of).

1) If we decided that we wouldn't use them as much anyway at the Treehouses and waited until we got to BC, would we be able to take the physical mugs that we got at BC and simply pay the length-of-stay price to reactivate them once the DDP expired?

2) If we decided to get our own from the beginning, would we be able to pass our extra set of 6 from the DDP to some lucky recipients for their own use (since ours would still be active)?

The mugs are activated for 14 days, regardless of your length of stay. So, for 1), if you get the mugs at BCV, then they'll still be active through the end of your trip. And 2), feel free to give away your extra mugs; as before, they'll be valid for 14 days.

Thanks! Just want to confirm because now I'm a little confused about the ones we will *pay* length of stay for if we get them at Treehouses

When we pay for mugs at the Treehouses, we will pay for length-of-stay and this will be through midnight of our final checkout, even though it is longer than 14 days. Correct?

Just want to confirm the above because otherwise there might actually be some advantage to keeping the mugs from the DDP (to cover our last few days) rather than giving them away.

All mugs are lenght-of-stay now, so they're all good for 14 days. But a "stay" is usually defined by your reservation. Since you have multiple reservations, I'm not sure if they'll extend the expiration for that last two days. If you were staying on one reservation for 16 days, they'd add the two days to your mug when it expired.

This whole thing is kind of confusing to me. I am staying for 9 nights, using 3 ressies - 1, 4 and 4. I have booked Dlx Dining plan for the one night stay,which is the first day of the trip. I am hoping that the mug will either stay active the entire time, or that I can pay a little extra to keep it active the whole time.
