Split stay questions

If you’re booking DVC and are an owner, split the two reservations. Put someone else as lead for the second reservation, then when seven months rolls around, see if you can modify and switch resorts.
Not an owner, and from what I’ve read online, when I submit, if it’s accepted, I’m locked in. So even if I submit the request at the same time, I could get one and not the other. My option at that point would either be to try a different hotel, which doesn’t interest me or cut the trip in half, which I wouldn’t want to do. Dvc is new to me anyways so playing it safe with one hotel is fine.

I’m not sure how far out your stay is, or if you prefer going through broker instead of personal rental here on the DISboard’s rentals.

AKV usually has good availability. If you start with booking either BLT or Poly and then immediately book AKV it should work out fine. But I can understand not wanting to take chances.

You could scan the rental listing here and look for an owner of both resorts. Let them know you want both bookings.

One other difference between Jambo and Kidani is the pool situation. Not for OP’s benefit, but Kidani has a great splash area for little kids, while the pool at Jambo is a bit more “grown up.” I have a niece and a nephew that are the perfect age for Kidani. My sister also liked the location of the gym at Kidani vs the pool, but she’s crazy like that.

We are usually Jambo people, but my son wants to try the 2 story 3BD at Kidani someday. My mom did the 3BD at Jambo and hated the location (she said she never saw a single animal).

As far as BLT goes, I’m not a huge fan of it personally. If I were looking to save money I’d rather go to CCV/BRV, or I’d pay up and go to VGF. My son loves Poly, but we don’t do well in studios and never quite seem to have “points to burn” to justify staying at the Bungalows again.

And also for benefit of others who may not know, you can use either pool, no matter whether you're staying at Kidani or Jambo. You can walk, take the shuttle, or ride a park/DS bus between Kidani and Jambo.

I’m not the biggest on the pools, but I do want to go to the kidani pool for the water slide. The one at jambo looks disappointing compared to some of the others I’ve seen on youtube.
