We booked the poly for a week and decided to grab one night at pop century so that we wouldn't be driving up the first morning. Looking for tips / answers to a few questions.

Luggage: We will have a car and will almost certainly drive to Magic Kingdom the first morning [Seems too complicated to go to the poly, park, get on the monorail, etc.]. Would it just be easier to deal with our own luggage or is Disney pretty good about getting luggage from hotel 1 to hotel 2 in a reasonable (by dinnerish?) time?

Park Tickets: The park tickets are all on the second reservation and we have a PPO at CRT. Can we just show up to the MK before going to the poly? We will check in online before and can activate the tickets at Disney Springs the day before if that will reduce time [Likely will go there regardless]

Magic Bands: Ordered two. I assume the second hotel's band will have the tickets "on it" absent some kind of linking of the first band to the second band's reservation. I'm fine with having it setup that way.

Anything else to be aware of / to do to make this smooth?

Driving to the MK is way more complicated than taking Disney transportation and not recommended. You would have to drive to the TTC, and then take the Tram from your car to the front, and go through security, take the Monorail or the Ferry across to the MK Entrance. The Monorail with leave you right at the entrance to the MK. It is way easier to do it this way.

Disney is good about transferring luggage to a second resort but it will not arrive until late afternoon, early evening. Personally in your situation I would drive to the Poly with my luggage early on that morning, check in and leave my luggage with Bell Services and then take Disney Transportation to the MK. But either way will work.

Online checkin should activate your tickets that morning

There is nothing on your Magic Band. It is in your MDE account. the Magic Band is access to that acccount like your Debit Card is access to the money in your bank account. All active bands link to that account and all should work for everything

I would recomend you re-think your day 2 plan. I would drive to Poly, park there, then head off for your MK day. Getting to the MK from Poly vs the TTC is 100 times better, plus you don't really want to have to fetch your car from the MK parking lot later that day just to move over to Poly - that's a big pain. You're a guest of Poly starting at something like 7AM that day, so you're fully entitled to park there.

You can either take your bags yourself and leave them with Poly bell services, or you could do resort-to-resort transfer from Pop to Poly. Personally I'd just take them myself and leave with Poly bell services so that way you can control when you get them later that day.

When you arrive at Poly, go ahead and check-in (even if you have already done online check-in). Your room will likely not me ready, but you can have the CM make sure your bands/tickets/charging priverlages are in order. You shouldn't have to do this with online check-in, but it doesn't hurt to stop by anyway just in case.

If this were me, I would decline the MB order for Pop, or if it's too late, just leave one set at home. As @Hopefully notes, any active MB is just a gateway to your MDE account, there's nothing "on" any given MB.

Hope that makes sense. Have fun!

We've done two split stays moving over to the Poly both times. Both times we headed over to check in, in the morning, and got assigned a room after we asked for it. You might not get your room requests, but for us, getting our stuff in our room was way more important.
