Split stay questions

I can't believe I am going to do this but our flight got changed so we added a day and they couldn't add it at wilderness lodge. We are doing 6 nights at wilderness and 2 at port Orleans riverside royal room. The Disney cast member told me that the front desk can switch our luggage from one hotel to the other. True or false? Tips and tricks? Thanks!

True! Just drop it at Bell Services and let them know you would like your stuff transfered. We always did it in the am before leaving for a park or activity for the day.

Typically, they tell you that your stuff may not be available until 3 or 4pm. Just a heads up to keep the stuff you want with you. We took pool clothes with us and swam at SAB until our room was ready. (They said our room was ready, but gave us a dirty room..meaning one that had not been cleaned at all...so then we had to wait)

When we transferred to POR, they accidentally took our luggate to PFQ instead. Since you are going from POR to Wilderness - you should not have this issue. WHen they write the tag at bell services, you may want to ensure they put the right thing on there.

We love split stays! We're doing one in a week (or so). It's nice that your proximity to parks/activities changes. We plan around what we're closest to, where it makes sense to do so. e.g. HS and Epcot when we're staying at BCV.

Like the PP mentioned, yes it is true and it is extremely easy to do too...Disney will make sure of it . In the AM, before you head to a park or wherever you are going to be at that day, call down to Bell Services and they will send up a Bellman to get your bags. Just let him/her know that you are going to be checking out of resort A and will be checking into resort B. They will then give you a slip of paper for you to keep so you can retrieve your bags at resort B. FYI--make sure you call before 11am in order to ensure your bags will be at Resort B between 3pm and 4pm (that is what the Bellman told us at BC). Have a great trip....we loved our split stay when we did it in January that we are doing another one on our upcoming trip .
