For the first time, we are trying a split stay. We have one night at a AOA then six night package at Riverside. So the six night at Riverside has our tickets and dining plan. My plan was in the morning go to a park then check into the Riverside closer to 3 o'clock. But I'm thinking now that's not gonna work because we cant activate our tickets from AOA, but probably have to go to Riverside.

So question is wwyd:
1) get a head start and go to the closest park, then bus to riverside and check in. Send husband, baby, kid and stroller to mk and meet them there with activated magic bands. To prevent double bus with baby and annoyed hubby.
2) ask if consierge at aoa can activate our 6 day park hoppers - not sure if they could- Im guessing no. Ask for magic bands at first hotel and decline for next on mde.
3) go to Disney springs then boat to riverside in am. Then bus to mk when magic bands work. problem is boat might not run in morning.

I would call Disney and ask, but get better info and tips here.

Thank you

What I would do.
After checking in at AoA, you or your husband take your child to the pool. The other one head over to Disney Springs or a park and have Guest Services activate your tickets. This can be done up to 3 days early. The next day have Luggage Services at AoA pick up your luggage and deliver it to POR. Head to the park of your choice for the day. Late afternoon head to POR and check in. Once in your room call Bell Services and ask them to bring you your luggage.

Ok that sounds perfect. So you can active 3 days even if bought as part of a package? (Bought through Disney as bounce back)

What I do if I'm staying at Pop arrival day, is get up bright & early, and take a cab (they have taxi vans too, same price) and transfer us and luggage to new resort and check in early, leave luggage with bell service, and head to a park.
For me this works well, and I can just relax our arrival night. I also like knowing my luggage is already at my resort for when I return.

You can now pick up tickets up to 10 days in advance so after arriving at AoA take your POR package info to Guest Relations at Disney Springs or one of the parks to get your tickets.

In the morning you can arrange to have Luggage Assistance transfer your luggage to POR, but usually they won't arrive until late afternoon so take anything you'll need during the day with you. Once you're in your room at POR, you can call bell services to bring your luggage to your room. Alternatively you can take a taxi (or drive if you have a car) to POR, check in and if your room isn't ready leave your luggage with bell services. That way if you get into your room early it will be easier to have your luggage delivered.

Ok, maybe I'm missing something, but if you aren't going to a park on your AoA day, why not just enjoy your stay at AoA, wake up the next day, hand your luggage to AoA Bell Services to transfer to POR, everyone goes to MK, activate your tickets, enjoy MK, then head over to POR when you are ready to check-in? I don't see the point in one of you going to a park or DS the day before, when you can all just go to MK in the morning and activate them then?

Maybe they want to look for fast passes the day before they go to a park.

Maybe they want to look for fast passes the day before they go to a park.

They are staying onsite with a package at POR, so they can make their FP+ reservations 60 days prior to checking in. There is no need to "activate" tickets onsite in order to make FP+ reservations.

My main concern was that I would have to take two buses from aoa to por to be able to access my tickets before I could go to a park. Ideally I would like to enjoy aoa then get up next day, drop off bags and head to mk. I'm too cheap to take a taxi, with Canadian dollar doubling everything.

We decided hubby is going to go to ds and activate tickets and I am going to swim with kids, relaxing meal at aoa, take a million photos then get up and enjoy mk next morning.
