i have a question. We will be at the world next Wednesday and have three different reservations. Here’s the rub. I only can pay for our first reservation now. Can I wait till I’m down there to pay for the remaining deposit on my other two reservations. 48 hours before of course. Don’t ask why this is it’s too complicated. School tuition, car accident. Banking problems Etc happened. I just wanted to know if it’s doable? May be able to swing it all before we arrive just want to know.

You are past the deadline for just paying a deposit on a dining plan. At this point if you want to add the the DDP to your resort reservations, they have to be added and fully paid for no later than 3 days before check in date for regular resort reservations and 2 days for DVC reservations staying on points.

Adding the dining plan makes a regular (CRO/DRC) reservation a package so the full cost of the package (room + dining plan + tickets) will be payable immediately since the final due date for payment on packages is 30 days prior to arrival. If you already have tickets, you can book a ticketless package, but you can only do it on the phone and again all package rules will apply.

If you already have resort packages booked, then you've already made your final payments and you would only have to pay for the dining plan and a $15 paperwork fee if it's within 10 - 14 days (I forget which) of your check in dates. There's also a $50 change fee for any changes made to a package after the final payment due date, but that is usually waived if your new total is more.

Oh boy sounds like life has been a bit of a whirlwind for you of late:(.

I'm not sure if you mean 2 out of 3 hotel or ADR reservations need to be paid for so I can only tell you what happened with us last trip.

We booked a number of rooms at different resorts for the man's family and were responsible for paying for all the rooms. Somehow I missed the final installment for one of the rooms and got a panicked call from the man's bro giving me this info. Spent several minutes on the phone with the GF front desk, gave them my card, and it was done. The balance on their room was around 1K to give you an idea of how they weren't interested in giving him/me the "bum's rush". Oh and they checked in a few days after we got to WDW so they held the room even though we had gone past "the pay by date".

I’m a dvc member staying on points. So yes I know we have to pay 48 in advance of the reservations. Just wondering if it’s doable.

Will you be able to pay for the Dining plans (not a deposit, the whole thing, as far as I know) 48+ hours before the second and third checking?

If so, and if that’s the rule for Dvc Dining plans, then I can’t see why it wouldn’t be doable. Though I bet you’ll have to do it on the phone rather than in person.

You 100% sure the dining plans will save you money for this split stay trip?

Yes, I looked at our reservations and our normal touring eating patterns it looks to be like a break even - well maybe about 13.00 a person more. (I looked into the restaurants and actually made pretend orders) now I know if we didn't do the DDP and didn't get dessert we'd save money. But hey it's vacation and with our large group it's just easier if we are all on the DDP so no one has to bicker or it becoming to overwhelming.
