Split stay package question

I know this has been asked/discussed before, so I apologize for asking again!

Can someone give me a detailed explanation of how it will work when I book the Magic Your Way Plus Dining while doing a split stay? I'm assuming I'll have to make 2 different reservations for each hotel, but what happens to the package then?
