Split stay or stay put?

I'm getting ready to book our May 2006 vacation and wondering if I should split our stay between BC and AKL or Poly. Our last trip to BC was so wonderful that Hubby and kids want to stay there again. I agree! However, I thought about spending the first 2 nights at either AKL or Poly just to experience something new. Is it too much work to change resorts? I don't want to add a lot of headaches to our trip. :confused3

I would like to know too about splitting a stay. We have never done it before. We just came back from WDW and are talking already about a trip in 2006. We would like to do the POLY for a couple of days and then possibly the POP again. How does it all work with packages and so worth? Thanks. :)

There are lots that like to split stays. Personally unless I'm there for 2 weeks I don't split. If my trip is a week or less I find I don't spend enough time at the resort to have the split make sense for us.

Hi! We stay for 8 nights and usually split our stay. That way we get to try new resorts and aren't "stuck" if we don't like one (although that has never happened!). Disney moves your luggage for you, so the switching is very easy. But....the ages of your kids might make a difference. Mine were older and able to pack themselves, if you had to pack up all the kids stuff yourself, that might be a little more complicated. We highly recommend splitting your stay, it sort of makes it a vacation within a vacation. On our next trip DH and I are staying 4 nights at Pop and 4 nights at BWI.

I have split stays within split stays (off site, then move to BC for 4 days, then back to off site for the rest of the vacation....or Off site, POP, AKL, cruise, then POR...)
I pack my things by day in zip-loc bags and packed an extra suitcase with the accumulated dirty clothes...Should work for your kids...a bag a day...easy to pack and repack the zip-loc bags for resort hopping...

Just returned from a split stay. Love it. We stayed half the trip at BWI and the other half at the Contemporary in a tower room. It was no hassle at all. Called bell services the morning we were moving, they took our luggage and it was at Contemporary before we even had a room for it to go in. The BWI bell told me they deliver luggage between Disney hotels between noon and 2pm.

After the luggage was picked up we went the Contemporary to check in, I had a small suitcase with essentials that I took and store with their bell services in case we needed it, then we went to the parks and had a blast.
