Split Stay & Next Reservation Credits, DDP

On our upcoming trip in Aug, we are currently planning for a split stay, as our DVC waitlists haven't come through yet. TIW and OOP is not as economical for us then the DDP, and I have priced it out using spreadsheets.

After our first split stay, we will have used all of our credits up after breakfast, and checked out. Can we start using our next ones for lunch, or do we have to check into the next resort first to do this (even if we have selected online check-in), without our room being ready. It is a MK day and we have a BOG lunch planned.

You have to check in to activate dining credits, but you can check in as early at 7 a.m.

We did this last trip and credits were there ready for us immediately the next day (we checked in but didnt get our rooms until later in the day, but after check in the next set of credits were available.) the system will automatically use older credits first before the new ones... I was leery but it worked perfectly.
