My family will be staying at Bay Lake from December 20 through the 23rd. Then move to Boardwald Villas for 5 nights through the 28th. My quesion is will either set of Magic bands we were sent in mail work for the duration? Or do we have to switch to the 2nd set of magic bands we have for the boardwalk stay? All are linked in my disney experience. Thanks to anyone who has insight into this.

I have a similar situation and called. I was told that the first set I received will be good for the first part of the stay (Dec21st-31st) and the second set will be good from check-in on the 31st to the end of my stay (Jan 3rd)

She told me I should have known and ordered 2 different colored bands....

Thanks for the info! Looks like I'm in the same boat. Identical magic bands for 2 different stays! Guess I'll Sharpie one set!

This is incorrect. Unfortunately many phone CMs are not giving accurate information about MBs and FP+.

All bands will work for all parts of your trip. Your bands will also work on any future trips you take.

Nothing is stored on your bands. Each one has a chip that simply reads your MEDx profile (to which it is linked when it is created) when you scan it. Therefore, any resort stays, park passes and FP+ selections you have linked in your MDEx profile will be accessible by all of your bands.

We each have four bands from several stays. All four worked on both segments of our November split stay with zero issues.

This is my understanding as well.

This is not correct. Either set should work on either reservation, as long as both reservations are linked to your MDX account.

I know it does work, because I did it back in November.

They gave you wrong information! They will both work for both stays!! In fact, my advice is to carry them all with you in the parks. During our HWS day, I lost mine at Muppets 3D. I did look for it, but didnt waste much time b/c we had an ADR at Mama Melrose right next door. I knew there was a pin attatched and that no one would be able to charge anything or use dining credits. I just slapped on my other band and kept on going, and saved a trip to guest relations at the front of the park. When I got back to Pop, I went to the desk and reported it lost and they deactivated it. No biggie, no time lost!! :) Had I not had my spare, God knows how long it would have taken to get it replaced, and I would have missed my ADR.

We're doing a split stay next month and Disney had us get magic bands for each portion of our stay (Boardwalk and Grand Floridian), so we just chose different colors so we'd know which one was for which stay.

You will get different ones for each stay on a split stay, but you don't have to switch them if you don't want to. All your bands will draw information from the same account profile.

I had a red one for BCV and a yellow one for BWV on a split stay, used the red one the entire time - didn't even bring the yellow one.

You can think of a magic band holding on to your login account for MDE. You log into MDE and you can see all your reservations of your split stay, your FP+, dining, tickets, etc. Your magic band "logs in" to the same/or similar database and pulls that same information.

If you have multiple magic bands, it's like having multiple computers but you will still use the login account information.

Great way to think of it!
