Hi. We will be staying AKL 5/4-5/11/08 and then transferring over to the Poly from 5/11-5/18/08. As we'll most likely be flying down and only renting a car for certain days, I was wondering, on the morning of 5/11, do we check our luggage with bell services at AKL and then make our way over to the Poly to check in, letting bell services handle the transfer of our luggage to the Poly? Thanks! :)

Yes, we did this on our last trip, except we were going from Saratoga Springs to AKL! We checked out of our room and left our luggage at Bell Services. We then went out for the morning, until we could check into our new room, and then picked up our luggage once we had our new room. It was all done for us! Nice! Have a wonderful time!

Yes, just as Brightspark said - call bell services on the morning of your transfer and they will collect your bags and have them sent to the Poly. Usually they tell you that your bags will be there by about 3pm, then once you have your room number, call them again and hey presto, your bags will be delivered with no problems at all!!
We have just returned from a split stay from WL to the Poly and last year from AKL to WL. If you haven't tried either resort before, you will love them both for totally different reasons. It's like having 2 vacations in one :goodvibes

Thank you so much, Brightspark, and LJP! :goodvibes I figured that was how it was handled. Sounds great! And, LJP, we've stayed at AKL before, Arusha savanna view back in 2005, and LOVED it! But we're really excited about staying at the Poly. We booked a theme park view room, and just today I called WDTC and requested rooms in the Tahiti longhouse. I was wondering if the Poly is similar to the AKL in the sense that, prior to our 2005 trip, we read right here that one has the best chance at getting a requested room or view the earlier one arrives at the resort and checks in (even though, as was the case with us in 2005, the room wasn't actually ready til later in the day). Doing that last time worked like a charm, and so I figured I'd check out of AKL rather early and head over to the Poly to check in, thereby hopefully getting a room within our range of desired rooms. Am I right to do that, or does that just sound like overkill?

Again, thanks to both of you! :)

I reallt don't know how the room allocation works i'm afraid. DH and i stayed on our only other trip to the Poly in Samoa ( volcano pool vies, looking over to the GF 3rd floor ) and it was just amazing :cloud9: We put in a request when we booked for the 3rd floor pool side. The CM at check in told us we had been granted our request but room not ready until about 2pm. It was in Samoa and volcano pool side, but on the ground floor right in the corner, so all we could see were bushes!!! We stuck it out for a night and were moved to the 3rd floor the next night - much better - we also figured that maybe a family with kids would prefer the ground floor, so they could walk right over to the pool!!
If you don't get your request, don't worry, they will try and sort something out for you. Good luck and have a great time :goodvibes
