Split stay in August

I currently have a ressie at Pop for Aug 23rd-30th in a preferred room MYW 8 day with dining. I am considering changing my ressie to a split between Pop and either, AOA LM or Cars, PO Riverside, WL or AKL. WEI would keep my current reservation and modify it to Aug 23rd to 27th and make a new reservation for one of the other hotels with for August 27th to 31st w no tickets or dining. Has anyone had experience doing this? Does this seem like the best way to do it? I have never done a split stay a Disney and would like my family to experience a resort we have never stayed in. We can do this if we do a split stay. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!!!

Yes, you can do this. Disney doesn't recognize split stays, but considers them to be 2 separate reservations so you'll have to pay a 1 night deposit for the second reservation since it is a room only reservation. Also, cancellation and final payment terms for a room only res are different from a package res.

Your dining credits from the first reservation will expire at 11:59 PM on the day you check out of Pop.

You can arrange with bell services to have your luggage transferred from Pop to your second resort. Luggage will probably not arrive at your new resort until late afternoon and you'll have to call bell services and be in your room to receive your belongings.
