We're heading to WDW for 6 nights in late October 2022 (10/24-10/30). We have 3 kids (11,9,7). We aren't DVC members but rented points 10 years ago and stayed at Bay Lake Tower and think we'll go that route (renting points) again. Our kids are a little older so expect we'll check out all the parks. Any suggestions on which 2 DVC resorts to consider for our family and how to do it? We used David's before and had a good experience. Thanks!

Are you looking to rent a studio? I think that you will be limited by whatever is available for your stay. Most likely the available resorts will be the larger ones: AKV, SSR and OKW. But sleeping 5 in a studio at those resorts could be a problem because there are not enough beds in any of those studios for 5 bodies. Your dates occur during DVC Fall Frenzy and most owners book 11 months in advance to secure their home resort.

You may have some luck after the new building at VGF opens up for reservations. Those resort studios sleep 5 but don't have the split bathroom or kitchenette that the original VGF deluxe studios have.

ETA: If anyone contacts you with a rental offer via private message, report it to the moderators. Some people have been scammed this way.

Normally I would recommend a split between an Epcot resort and a MK resort, 3 nights at each. However, with your dates I doubt anything will still be available at the Epcot resorts at this point, though you might get lucky since it's not quite at the 7 month window yet. In an ideal world I'd do a split between BCV and Poly Villas. Both of those have studio options that sleep 5. BWV would also work, but with kids yours' ages I think they would like the BCV pool. We love BLT and have rented points to stay there this summer for the 4th time, but we will be in a one bedroom, as the studios are small and only sleep 4 (also a family of 5).

Thanks. We've been thinking of getting a 1 bedroom. I didn't realize late October would be so popular. I'm leaning towards Kidani and Riviera (since we stayed at BLT 8 years ago)

Between Halloween and Food and Wine October is pretty busy. You will probably have a better chance with a one bedroom as studios tend to get booked up faster. Good luck in your search!
