YOu could take a cab or you could take a bus to one of the parks and then hop a bus to WLV.

You can grab a cab and take your luggage with you - check in and then have your bags stored for the day while you visit a park.

However, since it is very unlikely that your room will be ready - esp with a DVC resort you may just want to have your luggage transferred via Disney so you can enjoy the park and check in later.

The morning you check out arrange with bell services at akl to have your bags delivered to the wlv and then head to the park of your choice for the day. Then after 3ish take the bus back to wlv and check in; your room should be ready and your bags should be waiting!

We have done this a few times and have had no issues.

Normally when you get to your second resort room late that day you need to call for your bags, wait, and tip the bellhop. If there is a lot of baggage activity and storage down at Bell Services is overwhelmed, then your bags might be delivered to the room in advance.

For Magical Express arrivals, bags are normally delivered to your room without the need for you to be there, wait, and tip.

As others have said, your luggage can be transferred from resort to resort - if you are wanting to go check in at WLV before you go anywhere else, it's probably easiest to take a bus from AKV to Animal Kingdom park, then transfer to the WL bus there and go to your resort.:thumbsup2

Thanks yea we wanted to check in before we went to epcot cause we won't be leaving there till closing

Unless you have really small luggage, you can't take it on the Disney transportation. (I've gone with a rolling duffel and a backpack).

Here's the options:

1) Get a taxi to take you and your luggage to Resort #2. If the room is not ready, Resort #2 can store your luggage.
2) Have the resort sent your luggage to Resort #2, you may want to carry valuable items with you though. You can take your luggage to bell services for transfer yourself, or you can call them to pick it up. If you call you'll need to wait for them.

Others have addressed transferring luggage. As for getting yourself from AKLV to WLV, I'd consider making MK the park to go to on move day. That way, you can catch a bus to MK from AKLV, then go into MK or immediately boat over to WLV to check-in even though your room almost certainly won't be ready in the AM. Once done checking in, boat back over to MK and enjoy your day, knowing it's an easy boat ride over to WLV once your room is ready in the late afternoon.

A cab from AKLV to WLV would certainly be quicker than this, but I think this is a fairly pleasant way to go about moving from one resort to another.

Editing to add: you could also take a bus to WLV from MK, and it's probably faster as well, but I think the boat is a really nice trip.
