We are staying at the All Star Sports our first night (Thursday) and moving to the Wilderness Lodge for the rest of our stay (Friday-Wednesday). I know we can take Magical Express and our luggage will follow.

Is there anyone who has done this that can give me a true indication of how long it takes for your luggage to arrive at your 2nd hotel. We have tickets to MNSSHP on Friday and I want to be sure it arrives before we head to the MK (around 3:30).

Magical Express doesn't take you from one resort to another just to and from MCO. You would either take a cab from Sports to WL or use Disney transportation. Disney buses don't go from resort to resort so you would have to do a transfer somewhere or you could go directly to a park.

Bell/luggage service will take your bags at Sports and transfer them to WL. They don't operate on a scheduled basis. They will probably arrive at WL later than 3:30. They will be delivered to WL but you will have to call for them and you will have to be in the room when they bring them up. Or you could pick them up in person at bell services.

You could always ask at Sports when you drop them off at what time they will arrive at WL but they may not be able to give you a good ETA.

Your luggage can be transferred from Sports to WL by bell services (not DME - that's only from MCO to your first resort). However, it most likely will not get to WL until mid to late afternoon. Whatever you need on the day you're moving to the WL, you'll need to carry with you.

You cannot take luggage on the Disney buses, but you can take a taxi to WL and bring your luggage with you. If your room is not ready you can leave your bags with bell services at the WL.

Also, while you can check into WL as early as 6 AM, it's possible your room won't be ready until 3PM.

By the time you tip on both ends, the taxi isn't a pricey alternative. After wasting so much time on a lost bag we cab it now.

I assume on the Backend ( as in the reservations ) if I were to do a split reservation.....let's say CR and then somewhere else, when we are ready to move to the other Resort, if we are to pack everything and leave the luggage ready to be picked up....do we simply call the Bell Hop Service and ask them to take the luggage to the next resort that we are staying at?

Would they simply move the luggage to the next resort and then pick it up at the Bell Hop Service there?

or

If we have the room #, would they move the luggage all the way to the room?

I may consider doing this....but I know that DW wouldn't consider it if it involves a lot of wait and hassle.

You won't have tge second room number until that room is ready;

Bell Services will NOT bring luggage to your new room unless/until you're there to accept it.

They say your luggage should get to the next resort between 1-3 pm, however, that is just a guideline and it could be later depending on how busy the resorts are. If you want to make sure your luggage is there before heading to MK for the party, I would take a cab from Sports to the WL. If your room isn't ready, bell services will hold your luggage for you.

Yes, you can call bell services to come to your room and get your luggage and tell them which resort you are transferring to and they will take care of getting it there. When you check in at the 2nd resort and have your room, you can either call bell services from your room and have them deliver your luggage or you can go to bell services and retrieve it yourself. You will not get a room number until your room is ready and bell services will not deliver your luggage until someone is there to receive it.

Can you give me an approximate cost of a cab from All Star Sports to Wilderness Lodge?

I have used the baggage transfer system many times. I hand off my bags before 8am, and am told to expect my bags at the nest resort by 3pm. Not once has that happened. I have always had to wait until past 5pm!!! Every time my room was ready by 3pm...but no bags. Once at POR, the Luggage Assistance people had to make 3 phone calls over to BC to get them to move my 2 bags to POR!!!
At WL, I had to wait until close to 5:30...and they couldn't locate my bags, as I stood and waited. It took them about 25 mins to find the darned things.
From now on, I'll be taking a cab from one resort to the next....it's only a bit more expensive..probably less than $20.

Figure about $15-$18 plus tip.

We do a lot of split stays & have never had our luggage show up before 4-5pm, so if you have to have it cab over with it, or pack what you need in a tote & carry it with you.

From everything I read, do not expect your bags until *at minimum* AFTER official checkin time.

So you would want to keep your costumes with you, since you'll be heading to the party. Now if you wanted to cab it over and still take advantage of Bell Services delivering the bulk of the luggage and you wanted to be free of bags, you could put what you needed into one bag, take it with you to the next resort, and park that with Bell Services separately. That way you could always go back to that resort and get that one bag, since you KNOW it'll be there (and not in transition from point A to point B).
