Why is it when you have a split stay, the rules are different for FP+ and ADR? I'm going to DISNEY WORLD RESORT for 10 days. What does it matter that I'm staying at BLT for 5 days and BCV for 5 days.

When I made FP+ I had issues for our Dec trip, but it worked out ok . I'm now making ADRs for our May trip and I could only make ADR for the first part. I have to wait several days until I can make ADR for the second part.

Is this to discourage people from switching resorts?

Because you have two reservations. There is no "split stay" in Disney's system. It is two separate reservations and stays.

You want computer logic to do something it does not do.

I had to call disney the other day, for some reason it wouldn't let me make an ADR for our last day of our first resort. I asked the CM about this and she said up to about 6 months ago they could over ride and book the whole trip. Now I don't remember if I was lucky or my memory is bad, but I don't remember having the ADR issues before and every trip we do a split stay.

It was a "loophole" that has been closed. Now, you can make ADRs at 180 days from the start of each reservation. You can make them for length of stay or 10 days, whichever is shorter, again for each reservation.

I was able to make FP+ for 10 days from the start of our Dec trip, which is also a split stay. If it works for FP+, why can't it work for meals? Or is that another loophole that will be going away?

It's a loophole, yes. Note that the dining reservation system and the FP+ system are not the same system.

The FP+ works differently, probably because it's tied to the amount of ticket days you have linked in MDE.

I would speculate that FP+ has the same rules for on/off site stays except for when the window opens to make reservations. It would make software a bit simpler to work it that way
