Split stay dining plan credits experience

I’m considering a split stay for first time between booking direct for 3 nights and then renting DVC points for 3 nights. If I add dining plan to both, would I have to still use up all credits for first 3 nights upon check out of first hotel?

Any other negatives about doing this?

Is it better to do split stay that are both DVC rentals? Would it change anything re dining plan?

Yes, you will need to use credits of first stay by midnight of check out day. I don't do DVC so I cannot answer your next question.
