Split stay costs more?

I never really thought about it until I read a reeply in a thread today, but would doing a split stay cost more? I am reading that it would, as it would be two different reservations, and the MYW tickets would cost more, as they would be for two, say 3 day passes, as opposed to a 6 day pass.

If this is the case, then would I buy my tickets separately, and book room only ressies? This would exclude me from doing the dining plan, though, right?

So, to get a discount, I can't go through AAA; I would be best to get an AP for one of us and get a room discount that way and get the DDE instead of the MYW dining plan. Then I could get MYW tickets for my whole stay, saving money there.

Is this the best route to go for a split stay?

As much as it is talked-about on websites like this, comparatively few guests split their stays between more than one resort, so very little is structured to accommodate it. You may indeed be better-off constructing your own package.

I had the same questions - I wanted to stay in WL but there is an on-line rate about $80 per night cheaper for the last 2 nights (of 5) so I am tempted to book 3 days throught WDW and the last 2 on-line. HOWEVER, I also wanted to to dining package this trip and splitting the ticket packages doubles the price. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

DH and I are doing a split stay in May.......we are spending 2 nights at All Star Music with no park tickets, and 6 nights at Port Orleans Riverside with park hopper. The first day we don't get to Florida until late afternoon so we usually just go to DTD....the second day (this time) we are going to SeaWorld!!!!

We will probably do another split stay for our 2007 trip!

We were having the same problem. I just knew there had to be a way around having to buy 2 park tickets to get dining the full split stay. I e-mailed Disney and got a phone call a few days later from a very nice lady who explained
(like someone above stated) that not that many people do split stays and the system isn't set up for it, but that she could arrange it for me. This isn't something that the CMs we talk to at the 800 # can do. To add another layer to this, I was wanting to do this with a AAA rate. She said that's fine, just go to your AAA office and to have the agent call her and she'd get it all arranged for me. Next morning I went to AAA, explained the situation, the agent called this lady at Disney, and set everything up. Hope this helps someone!!! :goodvibes

Do you know if it's set up as 2 ressies but linked to allow the dining and tickets to not get messed up? I have all the same issues you have plus a season change on the day we would switch hotels, so I save more with 2 resies than I would if it is booked as 1. Did that make sense? Where did you send that e-mail to? I think you are my new hero!!!

No, just one ressie and one ressie number...On my AAA sheet it has CSR listed for the first 5 nights, 10 day park hopper tickets and dining, then it has BC for 5 nights, 1 day base ticket, (she said it would be listed but no charge, and I checked out all the prices and she did not charge me). I think she said, "I'll have to force it with a one day ticket, but not charge you....That's why SHE had to do all the input during her talk to the AAA agent. My agent basically took down the info and charged my Visa card. :) Her name is Yolanda. I can pm you her number.... :thumbsup2
