Split Stay confusion

Thinking about booking doing a split stay between Pop Century and Yacht Club.

I currently have a reservation for Aug 26-Sept 4 at Pop Century with 6 day base ticket + park hopper and regular dining. I was thinking about shorting the Pop Century section down to 4 nights and then heading over and doing 5 nights at Yacht club (without dining).

How would I go about purchasing park tickets? I know that they would be two separate reservations but should I do 6 day ticket on the first reservation and just room only for the second reservation?

When we do a split stay we always buy the tickets/hoppers at first resort for entire number of days. There is a substantial savings when you get past 4 days on the "average" cost per day by doing it this way. Have Fun!
