Split Stay Cancel Question

We are planning a split stay for the first time in August. Four nights at the Poly and four nights at AKL. We loved AKl last summer....and I'm not sure another propery can "measure up" to AKL, so we were planning a split for this reason....so we could try a new resort, and still visit our beloved AKL.

My question is, if we love the Poly (never stayed there) and want to stay there for the entire vaction, will we be able to do this without losing our deposit? Can we cancel AKL and just stay at the Poly?

My DH is not really advocating for the split stay...He thinks it will interfere with his vacation. He has finally agreed to gve it a try, because he is a flexible guy, but if we are all loving the Poly, I would just stay there, and I think he would be happier to not have to move. Anyone have experience with this situation or advice?

Yes! You can do this without losing your deposit.
In fact, we were offered this option last month at the AKL CL.
I asked if we would lose our deposit if we continued our stay there, and was told no.....they roll-over the other monies from the next reservation into where you're continuing to stay.

Now...this only works if there is availabilty for the resort in order for them to transfer the other ressie funds.

We decided to go onto the YC CL, but now, in retrospect, kind of wished we would have continued our stay at AKL.
Heck! They were even offering us a 2 bedroom suite to stay there! But the boys were excited about swimming at SAB, so we declined!

I'm sure your deposit could be applied to your Poly stay but there is a problem I can forsee. If you've booked your rooms using a discount code, they might not be able to extend the discount code for the rest of the stay. Which means, you could get stuck paying rack rate for those 4 nights. Remember discount coded rooms are subject to availability and at that short notice, none might be available.

Yes, availablity is the key to doing this.

We had a split stay last year at AKL and then WL. We loved AKL so much that we asked to continue our stay at AKL and not move to WL and we were allowed to do so without any problems.
