split stay booking strategy

We will soon be new members at AKV and are planning our first trip for Dec 17-24th in 2021. We were considering splitting our stay at AKV with 2-3 nights at a Poly studio. Is this doable during this time of year? If so, I have heard of the 2 bookings at 11mo strategy just in case availability is not there. When during our dates would we have the greatest chance at scoring 2-3 nights at the Poly? towards the beginning (say the 17-19 or the end 21-23? If it is highly unlikely we won't bother with a split stay. I have also glanced at SKier_Petes charts, but wasn't sure if anyone had tried something similar.

I have not tried for Poly during that time but do split stays and it is works well to book that way from the start,

This way, if it is there great...if not, then you have MS combine later on,

Given what has happened this year, I honestly don’t think those charts will necessarily hold true given so many people having to use up points from canceled 2020 trips.

It is also the 50th anniversary year and so that will play a role.

December 2020? The closer you get to those date the less likely you'll find anything available. When do you close?

I think because you have to book the poly at 7 months you would have a better change of getting a room for Dec 17 because it is Christmas and room sell out fast for the holiday.
