We’re doing a split day where we arrive at Polynesian on the day. We are going to Magic Kingdom. Will they literally let you in to the resort after midnight on your arrival day?

Sorry, not quite understanding the question. Is the first part of your trip at the Poly or, are you moving to the Poly mid-trip?

You may arrive after mid-night either the first night of your trip or, on your move day, once a room has been assigned to you.

When you receive a room assignment, you will be able to go to the room anytime after you have received your notification.

When you do a split stay there is normally a period of time when you have to be out of your first room and are still waiting for a room assignment at your new resort. During that time, you will not have a room to go to.

Just adding that even if your room at the Poly isn't ready yet, you are still considered a guest of the resort on your whole check in day so you are able to use the pools etc.

I am not sure what you would do at the Poly after midnight on your "check-in day". Technically you will not be a guest at the Poly until after 6 AM when the Hotel system rolls over and your reservation is actually active.

The Guard gate will let you in to park at the Poly but the earliest time you might, I repeat might get a room is around 7 AM if any rooms in your category are available. Normally rooms are not available before 11 since that is the normal daily check-out time with regular check-in time starting at 3 PM for regular resort rooms, and 4 PM for DVC units.

However you could swing by the Poly, park, drop off your luggage, and confirm any room requests you might have requested. From there as @kylenne posted, you will be considered a Poly Guest, be able to charge purchases to your Room Folio if you have a credit card from your MDE Account or by stopping by the Front desk to add a credit card to your room Folio.

When I move resorts during a split stay, I just have bell service pick up my stuff for the next resort (it will get sent over sometime that afternoon) and take my cold stuff over to the next resort myself. I hand it over to the bell service to keep cold while I head out to whatever I have planned for the day.

This is what we did the last time we had a split stay, switching from YC to Poly. We didn't have very many perishables but we took them over ourselves while bell services took everything else. Swung by bell services at the Poly to drop them off before heading to GF for spa time and lunch until our room was ready.

Lots of other stuff though (droids and lightsabers!) so we were grateful for Disney moving it. It would have been a pain trying to Uber with it.

arriving that day from FQ. Thanks for the information.
Will you be driving yourself or using Disney transportation? If you are driving yourself, I would simply pack up your car on your POFQ check out day, drive to Poly, give your bags to bell services to hold, park and take the monorail to MK. If taking Disney transport, ask POFQ bell services to transfer your luggage to Poly and then take the bus from POFQ to MK. When you are done with MK, head over to Poly for your stay.

Love a split stay. We've never used bell services to move just done the uber ourselves over so I can hand it off and not think about it and I know the bags are ready when the room is ready. Typically we take advantage of breakfast at the new resort and then head out to the parks and are still there for just around rope drop.

You'll most likely be waiting for your room till the 3-4 pm mark. Earliest we've gotten in the past was about 1pm.

I’m confused why you would arrive right after midnight if it’s the second part of your split stay trip. Wouldn’t you be sleeping at your first hotel? There would be nothing to do except sit in the lobby as your room wouldn’t be ready yet.

Not quite sure I understand the question as worded, or the replies, but here's my take.

I don't know about midnight, but I have sometimes arrived as early as 6:30am to my 2nd hotel when doing a split stay.

At that hour (or any times earlier), bell services is open, and you can drop off your bags with them. Before 6:30am though, nothing is really open at the hotel. If you have done online check-in, then you don't need to visit the front desk. If no online check-in, the front desk is open. You are allowed to park that early. I think the pool is not open that early, but you can swim as soon as it is open. You can 100% do early entry in MK that morning, and drop off your stuff before going to MK.

If your room was vacant the night before, it might be ready fairly early. I once had my room ready at 7am, but usually it will not be ready until a later time. There is a good chance it will not be ready until 4pm.

If your 1st hotel was a WDW hotel, you need to be out of that room by 11am, but you can also go back to that hotel for the rest of the day to swim, park, etc.

Yes. The gate will be able to see your reservation and let you in. If your Magicband or phone does not work to get inside your room, a front desk CM can help you. They will not give away your room for late arrival.

It sounds like your plan is to hit Magic Kingdom on arrival day, and not get back to your room until after midnight?

@RaginforDisneyRoy will not be arriving late. They will be arriving early since Poly is their second part of a split-stay. So far several of us can't figure out why they might want to arrive as early as the middle of the night before their arrival day since they will be at FQPO and moving to the Poly.

Huh! You interpreted the question in a completely different way than I did.

But good answer.

Ahh, I thought they meant checking out of FQ, and not arriving to Poly until after a late night at MK.

That’s what I thought as well.

I’ve never arrived at my second hotel that late. I always have taken a break around 4 to make sure I got my luggage to my room.
Ok, this makes much more sense! I would also take a break to move luggage and get checked in to my room. I wouldn’t want to wait until after midnight personally.

Not planning on arriving at 12:01. But we are going to MK that morning so I was wondering if arriving at 7 to get coffee before jumping on the monorail would be an issue.

No issue to get coffee at 7 AM or later but will likely mean that you will not be an early arrival at MK and have thousands of guests in front of you. I would suggest you make coffee in your room that you are leaving on that morning.
