So, our last minute trip keeps changing (mostly due to airline points and the last minute-ness of this.)

Right now, we are at GF Thursday, POP on Friday, back to GF Saturday through Friday.

Airline tickets are half the price if we go two days earlier (on points). So, we are looking at possibly another resort through DVC Tuesday through Thursday. We are family of 5. If I pack smart, is this doable?

So we are looking at Tues and Wens night at resort to be named, Thurs night GF, Fri night Pop, Sat thru Fri night at GF? If it were me I'd check on Pop for both Thurs and Fri nights so save one switch and a little money, it's going to be tough to go deluxe to value. Have you already checked on DVC availablity for Tues and Wens night? I'm not sure how last min your trip is but those can be hard to get. Is it doable packing wise? Yes, packing cubes or big ole zip lock bags are your friends in this case. Pack each leg of the trip per cube so you just pull out that cube and don't really unpack your bags. Hanging toiletry bags are also your friend, just pull it out hang it over the bathroom door and don't unpack it, as you use your toothbrushes and tooth paste put them back in their place. Or, if you are taking more than one bags, designate a bag for each resort.

It's a no-go on the DVC. Last week it was available, but I didn't think we would be there that soon. I'm going to cross my fingers something opens up Friday night at the GF. The things we do for our Mickey time!

I agree that I'd stick with Pop first, then GF. It would be cheaper anyway (if it's available).

With 5, do you need 2 rooms at Pop though? The rooms are small. I loved it there, but it was just my DD and me.

You could get a finding nemo suite at AoA for the four days Tues- Sat or a fort wilderness cabin for those four days. Much more than a POP room but probably less then the GF room on Thursday would be. Kids would love both of those, particularly the nemo suite. This would then mean two stays of decent length and only one move.

We've done a lot of split stays, but have learned to try to stick with 2 resorts. Three was much more disruptive and it started to affect our time there. Even though yes, you can go and check in later we found that we didn't want to head out to a park and come back to a new resort late at night- tired- and start checking for bedbugs ( yes we do that every time) and get settled in yet again.

I like the idea of a split stay (and we are doing one) but I would stick to only two so you are moving once. I would drop the first GF day and do either all of the early portion at the trip at POP if you like it best, or, as others have suggested a mod or cabin, then move to GF. Our split stay is going to be a AoA family suite then GF.

I agree with some others- drop the Thurs night GF and make those first few days all at one resort then move to GF for the remainder of your trip. We ended up in a similar situation for our next trip due to plane ticket prices- we originally were staying 6 nights at BLT on DVC points but decided to add 3 days to the begining of our trip and booked BC throught Disney for those nights and then needed to add 3 nights to the end of our trip and got BLT but it's a separate reservation so I'm not sure if we'll be able to keep the same room.

Good Luck! I'm sure it will all work out for you!

No way would I do one night at GF, then move to Pop, then back to GF!! That is kind of nutty. And I've moved 5 times in a two week period. If you go down earlier than Thursday, I would try to get one resort for the entire time before you move to the GF on Saturday. Someone mentioned AoA until you move to the GF....that's a great idea.
You lose a fair amount of time each time you move. You have to repack, move the bags...then, you're without a room and your luggage until later in the day. There's no way I would do that three days in a row....especially not with a family!!!
