Split stay and travel insurance

Hello quick question if I do a first night stay at a resort and buy my tickets for the length of my stay no dining plan and get the trip insurance through disney will it cover the rest of my stay for my room only reservation on disney property?

Unfortunately, no. The insurance only covers the package part of the trip. i.e. room, tickets, dining. Once you check out of this portion the RO portion will not be covered. I have inquired about this as well. If you buy insurance from an outside carrier other than WDW, you can get it to cover your entire trip.
