Split stay and magic bands

We just booked our very first split stay at AS Sports then AKL. I booked AS Sports directly through Disney then rented points for AKL. How do the magic bands work? Can we just get one set of magic bands and use at both resorts?

Any magicband linked to your account can be used to access your tickets and reservations, so you can use your set of MBs from the first resort throughout the entire trip as your room keys, park tickets, etc.--you could even use MBs from a previous trip, if you have any. I'll wait for others to chime in about whether they automatically send you a set of MBs for each resort reservation on a split stay (I thiiink they do, but I've never done a split stay), but my understanding is that you can log into MDE before your MBs are scheduled to ship and decline any MBs you don't want.

Yes, 2 Sets will be sent, but, @MrsAlexis can decline either set.
