split stay and magic bands

Sooo how would this work if I'm planning on a split stay? We have a place to stay offsite for part of our stay...thinking of doing onsite for the other part. We'll want park tickets from the time we get to Orlando. Do I just buy park tickets and use them and then I'll get magic bands for the rest of the time when I check into the hotel?
