I read the FP FAQ on the DIS and I still have a question about FP reservation with Split Stays. The FAQ says:

  • RO Stay followed by Package Stay. The 60-day FP booking window will open at 60 days before the check-in date of the first (RO) stay and will extend until the checkout date of the second (package) stay. FPs can be booked for the package stay only; FPs cannot be booked for the room-only stay until tickets are activated at Guest Relations.
Just to make sure I understand, if I have a stay where Mon-Wed is a RO, then Thur-Sun is a package including our tickets, I can book FP starting at 60 days out from the Monday, but only for the Thur-Sun dates? Even if everything is in the same MDE? When would I be able to book the Mon-Wed, when we arrive?

TIA!

Yes.

You can't pre-book for the Room-Only portion because you booked your tickets in the package.

You must wait until you arrive and then activate your packaged tickets at a Ticket Window. Then you can book for those days. It really is a disadvantage to book a room-only prior to a package stay.

It's because tickets in a package don't become active until check-in day.

The FP booking window opens based on the "package" not the tickets. That's why you can't book for those Room-only dates.
