So we are newbies to RV'ing (purchased 5/9/15) and we already had reservations for 10 days at BW this fall, but have decided to do a split stay with the second half being at FW. I have asked BW if we can park the RV in their parking lot and they have said yes, but not sure how I feel about that. Is there a way I can park in the big parking lot at Fort Wilderness? Worse (or best), I got an amazing deal on a golf cart this weekend, so we might well be towing that behind our Class A.

Thanks

What issues do you have parking in the BW lot?

NOPE. DW and I had a DCL cruise with a FW stay after. Called FW and asked if we could park in overflow lot before the cruise. NOPE. We had to book a night before the cruise, get the window paper allowing overflow lot parking until we returned from the cruise.

Should be no issues with RV in BW lot.

size of RV with the Golf Cart, will be super long. They are not really set up for something that size. We would be taking up multiple spaces (makes me feel bad). we would also be in the self parking area (can you image the valet driver's face).

Thats kind of the BW's "problem". If they say you can park you can park. At least that's the way I see it.

Judy,

What we've read here in the past is that the resorts will find a place for you but it may not be convenient/close to where you are. The guard at the BW parking entrance will probably advise.

PS - and since you are new to RV'ing (congrats, by the way) I would be curious to hear how you liked your Fort stay compared to resort stays of your recent past. Please come back and let us know how it went.

I have parked at Boardwalk in the past when just visiting and not staying. At that time, they had plenty of room for parking so I don't imagine it would be a problem.

1) Easiest solution I to camp the entire time at The Fort.
. . . of course, there might some personal bias in that opinion
. . . but, most people have seen that I try to keep personal bias's out of my suggestions (more or less)
2) As far as parking in The Fort's Overflow Lot while at BW, the answer is "Nope".
3) There is not enough room to allow everyone to park there while at other resorts.
4) If you do it for one, you need to do it for all.
5) You should be able to park your RV unit at BW.
. . . after all, the parking lot is for the vehicle(s) of the guest(s)
. . . most parking lots can handle an RV, typically in the rear of the lot
. . . due to overall length, I have seen them require you to unhook the trailer and park it in another space, usually next to the RV
