I currently have DS hotel booked for 2 nights prior to our first ever Dvc stay. I was just wanting to be cheap when I booked that hotel (I think I did the best western, I can’t even remember offhand right now!)

there are 5 of us.

byt it occurred to me today- that I’ll also be flying free on points. So since I’ll be saving $1000-1200 compared to what we usually spend on flights, mayyyybe I should just go ahead and be totally onsite for those2 nights. That way they’ll take care of my luggage easily and I won’t have to get an Uber for that.

so- we could do CBR and move to BWV (studio) as the cheaper option. Orrrrr I could really splurge those 2 nights and do a CR garden wing room??? I know I don’t want to downgrade rooms, so my question is, if we move from a garden wing room to BWV studio, is that a fair move, and not a downgrade do y’all think?? I think it would be okay. I haven’t stayed in either room type before so I don’t want to feel let down or disappointed bc of the switch. Thoughts???

A BWV studio will technically sleep 5, but we never put more than 2 people in one. They are pretty small. With only one bathroom.

I personally would stay in a poly studio. Much more spacious for a family of 5.

The only downgrade, IMHO, is the bedding and the size of the room. At CR, you will have two queen beds, a day bed and about 100 sq. feet more space. If you are ok with that, I would go for it. I like a MK/EP resort area split as you can really take full advantage of the locations of those two resorts. I think I would only do this, though, if you can visit MK during the CR stay and the other parks during the BWV stay. Otherwise, I don't really see the need to spend more money and would probably just opt for CBR.

yes that would be the plan. That works with the plan I had in mind already anyway, but even better. It would give us the chance to knock out both resorts, so that’s appealing as well. Im
Probably

We did fine in a CBR room this year so im
Not worried about space being an issue at all. My kids are heathens and sleep on the floor half the time. 😂 2 bathrooms are nice though, for sure! We are already booked on rented points for BWV so no changing now, but Poly studios will def be in our future plans! 😄

@cvjw -Different strokes for different folks, family of 4 here and the BWV studios and most deluxe villa studios work great, actually better than most traditional rooms since my girls don't have to share a bed and don't mind a pull out sofa and the small pull down murphy bed. Two people in a room that sleeps 5 sounds extravagant LOL!!

@sarahrdh As far as BWV being a downgrade from CR Garden Wings, I'm a no, yes the room will be a little smaller but I am not a huge fan of CR garden view rooms anyway. I don't like having to walk outside to get to the main building. I like the walkability/monorail to MK but imo right now with no epcot monorail running yet, BW/YC/BC are a better value now given the preferred location to two parks. Also, for us, we just prefer the boardwalk location right now.

Yes we love the location of the Epcot resorts for sure! I love the aesthetic of the garden wing rooms and we like food options at CR as well. We also always go there to get our picture of our kids with the Mickey statue out back, so this would help us take care of that without going out of the way for it too. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Yeah I think I’ll probably go for it ;)

I would definitely do garden wing at CR, because then you have the ability to walk to MK while at CR, and walk to EP/HS from BWV. I don't think it would feel like a downgrade because the rooms at BWV are much more recently refurbished than the garden wing rooms.

I would definitely do a garden wing at CR. MK/Epcot splits are great IMO. I don't think it'll be a downgrade.

We did a POFQ/BWV split last trip and we loved it. We rented points for BWV then decided to add two nights and went with POFQ.
